Crystal Meth Gangs - The Truth Scared Straight
Street Tour The Path of Honour Vandalism & Violence
Vandalism and violence prevention program.

This workshop features a strong empowerment component that encourages youth to abstain from alcohol, drugs, vandalism and violence, it also encourages youth to focus on staying in school and completing their education in order to develop a healthier future for themselves and to become positive role models in their communities. This workshop series places extensive emphasis on stopping the destruction taking place in our communities today, much of the community vandalism is fueled by anger and when that inner anger is mixed with alcohol the results are continual destruction of community property, school vandalism, and the often extreme violence youth are displaying toward each other. Break-ins are at an all time high in communities across the country, break-ins and thefts committed to steal items that can be sold or traded for alcohol and drugs. Many adults are of the view that our youth today have little to no respect and are very concerned about stopping the problems in their communities. The focus of the Young Warriors Network is awareness and prevention programs, our experience through our many years of facilitating in communities across Western Canada is that when youth are provided with workshops that give them a forum to learn, to speak, and to be heard, the problems will subside. Prevention education programs have a way of putting the fire out before it becomes a raging inferno that becomes more and more out of control. This program covers the many important issues our youth are experiencing today and it is presented in a non-shaming and non-blaming manner. It encourages youth to work together for the betterment of their community and helps them understand that every time vandalism takes place in their community it is going to cost money to repair that damage, where does the money come from, from monies that could be put to better use providing meaningful programs for the youth and the community. So, every time someone destroys community property they are in fact stealing money from you and showing disrespect to you. The intent with this type of interactive teaching is to get youth organized to stand together to end the vandalism and the violence.

All participants in this workshop are encouraged to become members of The Young Warriors Network and during the workshop sessions they learn the values of walking the path of the peaceful warrior, the peaceful warriors movement teaches that a warriors greatest weapon is the mind not the fists and that in order to use the mind in a good way it is important to develop a mind that is free from the ravages of alcohol and drugs. Persons that attend our workshops gain a brand new outlook on life and learn that they are the masters of their choices and that by working together in a good way we can begin to bring the respect, pride and security back to our communities.
